"Wonderful tour of an “authentic” historical chateau with a backstory worth hearing that involves the first French pope. Incredible views of the estate and castle. Our tour guide was excellent and pricing for the tour was less than a glass of wine at one of the nearby vineyards. Well worth it for adults and children. Tour lasts about an hour which is just enough and then explore the grounds. Excellent day trip if you’re interested in seeing the real France. Definitely worth the time. We did lunch in a nearby town, the castle and dinner at another nearby town and was one of the best days on our trip. If you’re in to experiencing rural France and appreciate history you will enjoy this attraction!!"
"Wonderful castle. This is your quintessential French castle, and a lovely visit. It's somewhat isolated with limited opening hours, but that means less crowd and a more intimate visit, in the midst of the Sauterne wine region South of Bordeaux."
"The castle is amazing it’s really well preserved and it’s well worth a visit! There are plenty of colourful surprises inside. Our guide Sebastian really brought the place to life with his humorous style!"
"The visit went great, there was even a little interactive activity for the kids. BUT the souvenir seller ruined the whole mood at the end because she didn't like that we wanted to pay for the postcards worth 2 euros with a bank card. In the end she allowed us to pay with a card as if doing a great favor."
"Really a wonderful place for a visit. The castle is being renovated with great attention to history. The grounds are lovely and it is most assuredly worth a visit. Also on the grounds is the Chapel Saint Michel which is a pleasant little find."
